We provided a quotation for a temporary roof covering over a single-storey extension so a new tiled roof could be installed. We charged £2800 for this tin hat scaffolding on 3 sides of the property, including a 4-week rental period.
We had no problems putting this structure up. Access was excellent, and all 3 sides of the extension were easily accessible for our scaffolders.
Our scaffolders erected a temporary roof framework on 3 sides of the building, measuring approximately 8.0m by 10.0m by 8.0m. We installed a working base lift around 2 sides of this extension for our customer to access the existing roof area. We fully boarded these elevations, with toe boards around the bottom edge and double handrails to prevent workers from falling. We created a roof slope so water could run off; the lowest point was 5.0 metres high (3 scaffolding lifts), and the highest point was 6.0 metres high (also 3 lifts). We installed aluminium beams to span the roof in 3 rows, each roughly 10 metres long. No scaffolding was used at the back of the extension, as it joined the main property; however, the beam work we installed helped support this elevation of the framework.
This tin hat was rented to the customer for 4 weeks, as the roof they replaced was small, so they did not require a longer hire period.
