Camera tower scaffold.

Customer needs: We were contacted by a film crew who required a small free-standing tower to be erected so that they could film the women’s harlequin rugby team match. They supplied us with the measurements they needed, which had to be high enough to capture the whole rugby field. We quoted £800 for this type of structure, including 1-week hire.
Obstacles and challenges we needed to resolve: We did not have any challenges when erecting or dismantling this structure, access was easy, and there was plenty of space for our scaffolders to remove the materials needed to put up this camera tower.
What we accomplished: Our team got to work and erected this free-standing tower that was 2.4 metres (8ft) wide and 5 metres (16.4ft) high. The framework consisted of 3 scaffold lifts with a small boarded access platform at the top for the camera people to manoeuvre and capture the match comfortably from. We used the large metal floodlight stand to tie the framework around it, which increased the tower’s sturdiness, so we did not need to use rakers to shore up the structure because it was tied in so securely.
Length of hire: This was a quick turnaround scaffold as our customer only needed it for a 1-week hire period, which we included within our price. Once they filmed the match, they required us to remove the structure from the grounds promptly.
